About Jan and Candles
Little Cottage Candles came about from my love of making candles and buying my own little cottage on a pond. Two dreams that came together. I like to think of all of this as my little piece of peace.
I started making candles about 13 years ago. At the time I owned Fangboner Farms and candles were an extension of our herb products. Times change but I still have a passion for making candles. I see the blending of oils and scents as art and actually see them visually as colors and depths. I know, sounds crazy, but that's how it works for me. The challenge of blending scents together to make something new is fun and rewarding.
I use pure soy wax, essential oils and phthalate-free fragrance oils with cotton wicks to do my little bit to reduce chemicals in the environment - especially in our homes.
And if you can't tell by the product names, I am a Starbucks addict. Luckily the names aren't copyrighted. Although Melté is all my own. I wonder if Starbucks will now change their "Tall" to "Melté"? And of course if you're a Schitt's Creek fan, you'll get the Bebé reference.
I hope you enjoy Little Cottage Candles. I'm always adding new scents. I also create unique to the couple wedding candles. Just shoot me an email for more information. I'd love to talk to you. jan@littlecottagecandles.com
And if you like to read blogs, check mine out - The Nine Lives of Jan. It's about my life as a stereotype - a woman in my EARLY 60's (no vanity here), single again and surrounded by four cats and a dog. I'm also a mom, friend, sister, marketing guru, yogi wannabe, liberal, politics and news junkie, mystery novel reader, sarcastic, always looking for a good laugh, kindness and joy, lover of coffee, chocolate and ice cream and in search of a good night's sleep, comfortable shoes and abs (believe me, I have to search to find my abs). It just might make you feel a little bit better about your life.
